Great German restaurant in Fredericksburg. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were amazing. Got me a nice dark German beer to go with my meal. I'm not sure even what it was called but it was delicious. The ambience was old school no fancy it's just eat some good German food and enjoy your life if you're in Fredericksburg swing by here and get something to eat it's amazing.

Came in for NYE to get my food to go. Because of the festive evening, they weren't taking to go orders Soni sat at the bar, had a tasty beverage and ordered my food. Once it got there, I asked for a to go box and left. The staff was super cool and friendly. And completely understood my dilemma of wanting to take it to go. Once I did eat the food, it was worth it. The schnitzel was tasty and the apple strudel is breathtaking. Would definitely come back to eat there but tonight was not that night. Til next time.

They don't have all great reviews, but what we ordered was amazing. I saw some comments on the steak, so maybe it depends on what you order. We had the old world potato soup which was incredible and the Kasewurst (spicy sausage) which was served with sauerkraut and red cabbage. Food was so good. They of course have an awesome selection of German beer and some wine. We sat in the back room / "beer garden" area, but it was in December so it was enclosed / covered. I'm not sure how it might be in the spring or if it's ever open air. The beer garden area is definitely pet and kid friendly. We saw two dogs while we were there. They also had a large food hall / seating area in the front. Great service from our waiter! Food and drinks came out quickly on a Friday night. Would plan to go back next time I'm in Fredericksburg!

I don't have enough great things to say about the Auslander. This is an old school beer hall and the vibes are chill and the beers are cold. The service is always extremely friendly and polite. This visit I believe will have been my 5th. With that said... Get the Yargerschnitzel with potato salad and spatzel. Their green beans and rolls are also excellent.

Always a great stop when visiting Fredericksburg. Pro tip: if the weather is nice and there is a long wait inside. Check the back patio! It's so much faster to go to the bar to order food and drinks to go and eat out back (weather permitting). Love the fun peach drinks! Chickenschnitzel is always my go to! Great crunch, the gravy is savory and the red cabbage is just like my polish grandma makes it. Kids plates are pretty great too! Enjoy!

Ready for a real taste of German Food? This is a stop that you must take. I tried the Jaegerschnitzel. That's a flattened fried pork loin with a mushroom gravy. Delicious. Cannot say that I enjoyed the red cabbage or the German potato and salad, but I can say that I have tried them now. The apple strudel was wonderful! The workers were efficient and friendly. The restroom was clean.

Excellent speedy service. Incredible price-to-portion too!!! And, they serve Hofbrau lager!!! I ordered the jaeger schnitzel and fried mushrooms. Price- to-portion is competitive and their sauerkraut and mashed potatoes were delicious. The homemade ranch dressing enhanced the already delicious fried mushrooms. Halfway through I had to get another Hofbrau lager. I remembered enjoying authentic German food and beer in Munich. Auslander brings those great memories back. Service is excellent and the schnitzels are delicious. 5 stars for my first lunch experience here. I'll be back on my next Fredericksburg trip for the meal and the memories.

Came on a weekend around lunchtime, and had to wait around 15-20 minutes. They are quite busy! This is probably because they have nice decor within (German stuff). They also have reasonable prices for such a touristy location ($15-20 range). Kasewurst (8/10) - Huge Sausage! Very unique, with some filling inside the sausage. Definitely recommend trying this dish. Sauerkraut is delicious as well, and matches perfectly with the sausage. Potatoes were meh, kinda potato-salad like, but tasted a little too sour for me. However, overall the dish was very worth it and surprisingly filling. The Reuben (5/10) - Dry sandwich, although this might be what the dish is supposed to be like. The pastrami inside is fine, but there isn't enough sauce to make the bites feel juicy. Would recommend maybe skipping this dish, and get another more authentic German dish.
